Hi all again is a nitrate processor worth buying for a freshwater tank I need something to control the nitrates as high nitrate in my tap water and an ro unit seems more trouble then it's worth

This is mainly needed for marine tanks, you will be wasting your money buying this for a tropical tank as nitrates are more of an issue in marine tanks and are not really a problem in your type of tank

In my tap its around 50 nitrate I water change every week roughly 30/40%. But stil get a reading of 80 to 100 by the end I hoover the tank twice a week keep filter clean but of course not killing the cycle also have live plant that isn't helping

I have an RO unit for my tropical fish.
Our nitrate was 200 from our tap so definately a no no for my tropical tank, I have live plants too but they do really well.

I wouldn't worry about it, as long as your fish are healthy you're fine, besides nitrate tests are notoriously inaccurate.

Unless you're keeping extremely sensitive species, like discus, the fish won't mind levels of 80-100.
