The Betta Bug Has Bitten... Resistence Is Futile
It's really amazing how many things have happened since I introduced these 2 yesterday. First I found out from the person I got the pair from that the male is around a year and a 1/2 old 
Which would clearly explain his complete lack of interest 
Well I was at a local lfs last night picking up some frozen blood worms and I got to talking to the owner of the store, she knows I'm into bettas and told me how the stores betta supplier has been delivering fewer and few live/healthy bettas, but hes the only one around. And she asked me if I bred bettas, I told her I used to and I'm just getting back into it, well that made her day, she told me that whenever I breed bettas, if i need somewhere to sell them she'll buy the lot, cause she has faith that I woud only sell her young healthy fish, and she's right. So I told her I'd let her know as soon as I had some babies for her, and that it would probaby be a couple of months and she was thrilled, said they've put up with this crappy supplier for so long that a few more months wouldn't hurt. So on my way home i was thinking, Mansons not panning out, he doesn't seem interested at all, but the females clearly ready to breed, so I was thinking about what males I have, and thought of course, Patriot, their coloring will match up perfectly. Granted people find it a bit unethical to breed veiltails since theres so many out there and in most cases it would be incredibly hard to find homes for the babies... but I have a definite place for them to go and since it'll be peaches and patriots first time breeding chances are high that it will be a manageable sized spawn, so I've decided to go for it!!
I know there are a lot of people on here new to breeding who would like to give it a go, so I'm going to try and post a day by day diary of the spawns progress, it should be very informative!!
I added them into the spawning tank about an hour ago, the females floating in a cup. Patriot flared and flirted with her for a good half hour or so and now hes hard at work building a bubblenest. Once its up to a good size I'll release the female

lol, he's a lot closer to the camera then the bubbles thats why he looks huge, lol. I'll probably release the female within the next hour or so!
