Ok I Think I May Have Bought Dyed Fish

I bought 2 Honey gourami's in pets at home 2 weeks ago. see link to old topic below as the fish look identicle to mine apart from mine are slightly darker (or were)

Now after 2 weeks one has got a much paler appearance and the red appears to be fading noticibly in the one, they are now more of a light peach and at about 1.4"

If i new how to post pics i would of my own.

Do we think they are died as the old topic never came to a conclusion


Ok had a better look the one is mostly the same in colour and with a small localised gold tummy. The other has gone more a very pale peach with darker tips to the scales and it is fat all the way along its body looks almost bloated.

One used to chace the other alot but now they seem to be enjoying each others company?

IME/IMO, they are natural colouring. They do fade as they get older like most other fish.

2 weeks is hardly getting older is it possible one is female and turing a bit broody (sorry bad word but best i can think of)

They're not dyed, it's just a color morph.
