Okay so.. I got 10 black neons.. I have never had trouble with them dieing before.. I used to just drop them right in to the tank and they would be fine in 2 hours.. this time i have ten. i drip acclimate them... and 4 are dead.. looks like another is gonna die.. there is no spike in my QT tank.. the PH is jsut a bit high but they wher ein high PH water when i got them.. why are they dieing?!

this is the reason i never used QT tanks before!!! this stupid stuff happenes...

P.S. the filter floss I am using as media is highly saturated in bene. bac. since it was in my goldfish filter for several months...

they are all good.. 0/0/5 (probably form the 72 gallon since that is the water I used) the fish are all sjut dieng one after another.. one goes away form the school.. dies.. and then another one doe sthe same thing.. I am down to 5.. grr..

Did you take an actual reading from the QT? How long has the Qt been up and running?

yes the readings are from the QT
the tank has been up 4 days but the filter medium was cycled in my goldfish tank for several months.

Black neons I have them are very hardy when you had them a while, but can die when you first buy them.
It happened to me bought six and four died in aday, If stats and ph wasn't far out I would put it down to stress and a bad bunch of neons/

I've heard the exact same about them. If the stats are all fine, and they were fine in the lfs, I would chalk it up to stress. Would you be able to get a refund for the ones you've lost?

yes.. i will be able to refund them.. luckly petsmart is the best place when it come sot neons! 14 days to return.. i currently have the dead batch in the freezer.. I will wait for the rest to either die or calm down..
how long should they be in QT tank? should i made them with general paracite cure or jsut see if they have any signs of paracites like flukeS?

No leave them, there to stressed by the sounds of it.
Are they darting or swimming funny like swirling as that a sign of ph shock.

Thats good then.

Sorry not nice but it does happen.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it is one after another man!! what the hell is going on!!! 1 dies.. and then another one swims up to the top and then dies..

We had the same problem with regular neons, but not at the speed you're on about - we lost several in the first week or two. Apparently they're not as hardy as LFS make out - and prefer a very well established tank.

Look on the bright side though - the QT tank was a good idea, had these gone in with your other fish and it was contagious, you'd have lost more than a couple of neons ;)
