Our family went out of the city for a day to visit some relatives. When I got back, my 55 gallon aquarium had no water left and all the fish were floundering about! Many of the fish didn't make it (I don't know how long they were out of water) but the ones that did I put in my backup 15 gallon aquarium. It was later on that I noticed a large crack in the bottom of my 55 gallon (it was, after all, more than 5 years old ). Anyway, I don't know when I'll be able to get a new 55 gallon aquarium so my fish will be in the 15 gallon indefinitely  Would they be okay in a 15 gallon aquarium? Currently, my 6 inch angelfish, 5 inch snakeskin gouarmi, 3 inch opaline gourami, and 5 inch pleco inhabit it.

i'd get a new tank sooner rather than later. That 15 gallon is not going to cut it

Yeah I'm looking to buy a new 55 gallon ASAP. How long could they possibly live in the 15 gallon?

Not long, the Pleco itself will make enough waste to throw off your readings. Daily water changes are best for this situation IMO
