Just picked this poor little rubber lip pleco from my lfs, he's absolutly beautiful. But i think he's dying :( I floated him in the tank he was ment for for about 1/2 an hour, slowly adding water, but when i put him in, he just kind of sank to the bottom, and has been laying there on his back. He's not dead, if I put a net near him he jumps up and swims away, but doesn't seem to be doing so well.
heres a picture. Is there anything I can do?

Make sure there is plenty of o2 in the tank, add an air pump if possible. Turn the lights off and leave him alone for the day.
Its worth while testing your water to make sure you don't have any ammonia or nitrite.

Good luck.

He died :( *cry* I tried to pick a lively one... poor guy. The tank was well cycled, and had plenty of air.

Was the pleco in a quarentine tank? You should be careful about knowingly buying sick fish from petshops, there are some viruses, bacteria and parasites which can effect fish and be particularly difficult to get rid of, moving tanks is also a stressful buisness for fish and may finish sick ones off anyway if have just been bought from the petshop.
