I have a sick red flame Gourami.

He is sitting on the bottom of my tank leaning against a piece of decoration, breathing seems a little heavier than normal, but he will swim around and seem OK... then he goes back and lays on the bottom.

He was doing good yesterday morning, Swimming around like normal, having fun.
Could he have eaten too much?

My mollie just gave birth, and all I found were 2 fry.
Gimlli the Gourami was following the mother around for quite some time in the past few days.
I suspect he was looking for a live meal.
His stomach is definately larger than I have seen it before.

Nitrates, bottom of scale near Zero
Nitrites, almost zero
ph 7.5
water temp. 75 fahr.
I am Worried about him and his brothers. Other 3 gouramies seem to be fine.

Also..... I lost 2 new (I got them 2 weeks ago) Neon tetras. I wonder if nibbling on them had something to do with his illness?!?!

I feel So bad that I can't help yet.

But I did add some pimafix, and melafix. I hope this helps.
I will do another 20% water change as soon as I get home tonight.

Thanks....
Adam

He could of got infected with eating the fry.
Sounds like a bacterial infection which gouramis are prone to, the laboured breathing is a concern as they do this when there dying.
He could be bloated through being a little piggy hope that is the case, fingers crossed.
You could try an epson salt bath to help him with being bloated it draws the fluids out, if no epson salt just normal household salt.
