Oh My, I Have Fry!

I Noticed today that one of my female guppys that didn't look square last night looked very square and a bit smaller. So I scooped her up and put her in the breeding tank with the other that has looked square for days now. When I was catching her I noticed a fry along the plants. So I should assume she has already begun to drop her fry. I also scooped up my 3rd female, who is also getting close and they are all three in the breeding tank.

In the breeding tank I noticed 3 more fry that were in the bottom amongst the marbles instead of up in the plants. These 3 look quite different from the guppy fry, so I think they are Serpae Tetra fry since I spawned a pair in there 2 days ago. Or they could just be really small guppy fry and I'm just being hopeful.

My breeding tank is a 5 gallon tank with about an inch of marbles in the bottom and about a 3.5 inch layer of what I believe to be Parrots feather, but it is quite a bit fluffier and softer, in the top of the tank. In between that is a slightly open area along with a couple of floating clumps of Christmas Moss for a bit more fry cover. Perhaps a bit overboard, but I am a paranoid person. They have plenty of room to give birth underneath the parrots feather, though. It also has a small heater and a sponge filter.

Thats cool. I was plesently suprised when my mollys gave birth. I have a black molly with a mother of pearl effect yellow belly.

3 more fry today and it looks like she's all done for now, so she's back in the main tank again.

I still have 2 more girls to go. One who's been looking squared for 3 days now and is very huge and one who is not quite as big or square, but it could be soon.

Ah,I remember years ago,chasing fry round the tank at two in the mmorning,trying to rescue them.... (no breeding trap..)
