Oh ick! What is this ugly thing?

I moved all my swordtail fry into a new and more spacious tank today and while I was cleaning the old tank I found this ugly little critter hiding at the bottom. Anybody know what it is? Almost gave me a heart attack when it moved! It's a little over an inch long.

If i'm not mistaken, that's a dragonfly nymph. It WILL eat your fishies. Good thing you found it!

From dragonfly eggs laid in or around the tank.

i had one of those buggers in my tank before too, me and my dad were trying to figure out what it was

Interesting, the fry tank is in my living room, I haven't seen any dragonflys buzzing around the house. In fact, I can't remember the last time I even saw a dragonfly. I suppose it could have come in on a plant though. Glad I found it, I would be really upset if my babies started going missing. Now I'm going to have to look real closely at the gravel in 5 more tanks.
