Oh Great, I've Been Hit With The Ich Stick

Some meds do break down so you don't have to run black carbon.

I would email or phone interpet and get some advice.

Or after the first course is done, do a water change and run some black carbon for aday. Remove black carbon and retreat again.

I've emailed Interpet to see what they say. Also wanted to know if there was any copper in the product as I intend to add shrimp to the tank in a few weeks time.

Ok.
If you don't mind could you let me know what they say.
Good Luck.

Interpet got back to me this morning with this reply:

We would advise that after the second dose of this treatment, we recommend a period of 7 days be left before a water change is carried out and/or carbon is replaced in the filter. The product does naturally break down, but we do recommend that if you have the facility for carbon, this be used.

We would advise that we have never experienced any adverse reaction, when using this formulation with shrimps. However, if you are concerned, you may wish to use half the recommend dose.

So they advise not to do any water changes until at least 7 days after the 2nd and final dose and to use carbon to remove it.

I'm planning on doing a 40% water change after a week, then starting the treatment again.

Thanks. That's good to know.
Might be best to have the interpet reply pinned for other members to see. That's if you don't mind.

I really, really only do the heat thing, & have always, allways been successful with Ich treatment.... Ich is honestly not a problem in my vocab.....

Not a tricky thing in South Africa though :) Getting a bit chilly here and as said my 150w heater is really stuggling to get to 30c (29.5 is the highest it could manage)
