Oh Crrraaaaapppp....

I don't know as I found the swordtail floating dead at the top of the tank in a pile of rotted leaves (I almost picked the dead fish up when getting the leaves out)...The bristlenose is no where to be seen my Severum is breathing heavily and my eel appears to have some rotting on the tip of his tail...I also lost my first Kribensis Fry today for no apparent reason I suspect the fry were fighting (as they do) and this one couldn't take it...

I just went to my tank to find my spiny eel on his side not moving grabbed the net went to take him out and he wriggled a TINY bit...so it seems he will be dead soon along with my syno...

How does a power outage allow the velvet to take over?

because Velvet was laying dormant in the tank or a fish and the power outage created a temperature drop and also the filters lost there water causing a spike in ammonia and nitrite which increased stress in the fish lowering their immune system and there you have it :(

Update: well its getting worse as last night my Syno died (it's belly had become white like something had exploded internally....sound familiar??) aswell as my eel which was hard to watch as it couldn't swim properly...I was also wondering where my bristlenose catfish was so I turned on a light to find a head with some bones of it poking out...so three fatalities again last night...
