Oddest Tank Setup / Ornament You Had In Your Tank

hi all. just wondering,

in your fish keeping expiriance what is the oddest tank setup / ornament you had in your tank?

i had chinese military setup ones.. inculuding tanks and trucks... ( i was 7 or 8!)


what kinda setup / ornament u used to have, that you dont want to talk about... ?

i had a full spongebob setup...i am 30 years old!!! lol. your tank is gorgeous!! i used to keep discus and you have some beautiful fish!! brilliant to see them living happily with angels and was particularly surprised...is that a red-tailed black shark in there??!!! superb!! L

lol.. tanks..

my discus is not only fight off angels.. they guard food from fully grown syno cats and pictus.

LOL of course it wasn't - we believe you, don't we guys?

I've had my moments too - for years I was hooked on the sunken boat/ship theme, then I switched to a Greek statue and urns theme. I think the worst tank decoration I ever purchased was a neon bright-orange, rubbery, sea anemone thingy. The only good thing about it was that fry could hide in amongst the long tendril things and not be seen by adult fish. But it just looked so tacky LOL

My most recent waste of money purchase was when I was setting up the new tank and had this silly idea of using sky blue gravel to create a "river" effect through the centre of the tank with a little bridge crossing it (based on another of my weird dreams)...paid £10 for it, put it in...saw how daft it looked and had to remove it all 10 mins later! Some things are better off left in dreams LOL

Not really a stupid ornament. But a total waste of money on decor.....
Went to a client for work quite some way from where I live and there was a lfs nearby there selling some cheap wood. Well it was cheap because it was sold by weight. Bought quite a bit so it came to a fair amount of £. But light wood....floats. Doh.

So I went to a lfs nearer home and bought some heavier wood. Paid more....but at least I could put it in my tank without it floating away.

Mean time I am soaking the lighter wood in a container of water. 6 months later... and it still floats.

I too trying to picture river setup. Ppl do do it. I have seen in some aquascapes.

Mean time I am soaking the lighter wood in a container of water. 6 months later... and it still floats.

Depening on the size of the pieces, you could try boring some large (1" wide and deep min) holes in the bottom and plugging them with large stones.

Ah, wrong side of London sadly. Ooohh, maybe I could find some red gravel and make a kind of lava river (combined with some black sand). Or.... a volcano! A big cone shaped rock in the middle, then a red river of gravel running down it. In my head, it looks great with an oscar!
