is there a freshwater barreleye?

well anything smaller than a oscar

i got my tank 2nd hand so they didn't say the measurements

You need to measure it really - that way we know what will fit in it.

Big O, I dont mean to affend you or anything, but before you start  over the fish you should get your dimensions and let them know.

I  over one in the pet shop for ages, came home was about to get it..asked on here and found out it was to big :(

i'll measure it today but i tend to stick to smaller fish my hoplos the biggest i've got at the moment

If you have other fish in i recommend you post:

Dimensions of tank,
Other Fish,
Size of other fish,
Temperment of other fish,
Substraite (as some like to hide and dig)
Plants (as some might rip them to shreds)

:good:

post a pic of the 'sucky thing' - it is important to know your fish.

I'd go for a top dwelling fish to even things out and a small school of mid swimmers. This of course depends on size of tank.

Top fish could be a trio of panchax or an african butterfly fish

Mid swimmers could be praecox rainbows, tetras of some sort (not tiny ones like neons though) or barbs - maybe odessa barbs.

Need tank size - dimensions and literage to offer any real suggestions.
