Hi fish keepers,

I am planning a 4ft tank with a PH of 8 or above. However I was hoping to use a 10-12" piece of flat bogwood but fill half of the tank with ocean rock. Could I naturally gain a PH of 8?

Thanks

Any response, in my opinion i think if I add enough ocean rock it should be enough to overcome the bogwood but just want people's opinions as it may not be the case? The comparison of bogwood to the amount of OR is very little so I'm hoping it will work out.

What stock are you planning? Africans?
The bog-wood would eventually stop leaching Tannin, become mostly inert and have no effect on ph if I'm correct.

Hi I am planning on tangs and the tang eel.

So long term the bogwood should stop decreasing the ph?
