ive got a nice male and i know they are apparently a hybrid, but i have another male peacock (a german red) and because they arent the same colour they leave eachover alone, which i didnt think would work lol.
basicly he has much bigger fat lips than the german red. if im to believe it IS a hybrid is this a common hybrid feature of the apparent "mbuna+peacock" mix ?
or do i have a strange one lol

Really ? .. I thought they were too, too different to beable to hybridize. Ive heard of an ob peacock before but never took much notice, i just thought it was a type of peacock thats blotched, lol.

I sometimes find all this hybridization a little freaky ....

Because there is no way to know the lineage of your peacock, the bigs lips are quite possible genetic, but not necessarily "common". That's why peacocks coloration and features can vary so drastically. There are several mbuna species with large mouths/lips (m.callainos comes to mind), and it's possible one of those when into the make-up of your particular peacock.
