i have some good dried oak wood and want to rid it of tannins. how long do i boil?
oh kk thats actually way easier lol what do i do if the wood is starting to rot or grow stuffdon't boil it, just put it in a bucket of water and change the water each week. When the water stays clear for a week, put the wood in the tank.
OkI concur, boiling it will weaken the wood fiber, leading to a shorter tank life.
Mm hard to go there bc of corona...The best wood is drift wood from the beach. That has been in the ocean for years. It needs to be hard wood. Wood like that will last years in the aquarium and slowly leech tannins and salt to the tank, all good stuff
