Hi,

I currently use Nutrafin Cycle weekly as this is what i was recommended to use from my LFS to maintain the biological balance. I was just wondering if this is correct what im doing or would anyone recommend something different for me to use?

Thanks in advance.

If it maintains the 'biological' balance as they say it does you shouldnt have to keep adding it :shifty:

Ok, the reason i add it weekly is because it says, When to use it;

- Weekly to maintain biological balance.

- New tank set-ups

- After medication (remove medication with carbon or other filtration before application

- New fish introduction

- Temporary aqaurium set-ups

Thanks for your reply, i just wanted to know if im doing the right thing as ive heard some people on the forum don't recommend it.

Once the tank has cycled you don't need to continue to use it. It can help to prevent mini-cycles from happening when adding lots of new fish into an existing cycled tank or after using medications that kill some of the beneficial bacteria.

You can stop using it altogether
it supposedly helps colonize the nitrifying bacteria but it never worked for me, or anyone i know for that matter.

The bacteria will establish naturally and if you add new fish sparingly and responsibly, you won't have any issues!
