So I bred my HM male, Nox, with my PK/Delta female, Midnight, yesterday. All went well, I'm going to go with the leave the male with the babies for as long as possible this time, obviously with a keen eye.

Conditioned both betta's on bloodworm and hikari pellets for 2 weeks(aroundabouts), added Midnight to her chimney 4-5 days a go. After first release all was good but Nox didn't want her going near his nest so there was a minor set back while he decided to let her go near his nest, eventually he allowed her and they bred! So happy as this is my second spawn and this time, no ripped or torn fins!

Anyway, here are the pictures!!

Beautiful! Hopefully Nox is a good dad; is it his first attempt? Mine did well, but then dad didn't tend to his nest well enough, so nothing came of it.

It is his first time but he seemed to know what he was doing straight away, both him and Midnight did. The were picking eggs up and putting them in the nest straight away.

Wow very exciting, cant believe he is going to be a daddy already!!!

Great! Hopefully he stays that way. My pair also picked up the eggs, but then he failed on the 'maintenance' (picking up eggs that fell out, repairing the nest) plus I was not sure all the eggs were fertilised. Fingers crossed for yours; you really have a gorgeous pair there!

Thank you, he really is being a good daddy, he's repaired the nest where it needed it and there are no eggs on the floor of the tank.

Both are very nice fish. I am having a hard time getting nice females here. I have a lovely mustard gas pk male that I would like to spawn but I can get only veiltails in the regular colours here in Canada.

If you weren't so far away I'd say come and have a look in my LFS but I'm in Sheffield, England...

Sounds like your spawn is going really well! Can you see anything in the nest yet? :D
