Well, while I'm still trying to fix the cory (see previous post), I now see that 3 of my neons and both fm guppies have ich! What to do?! What to do!? With the water changes I'm doing for the cory, there's no way to keep meds in the water, and I have a neon with popeye still in the hospital tank. Should I add the others with him? What is going on with my tank!?!? Latest stats: amm 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5, temp 74-76, ph 7.0. Any ideas/ suggestions?  :dunno:

Don't know if this is ok for your fish you should check before you do anything. A decent treatment for ich is a higher temp and a dose of aquarium salt. doing 1 1/2 to 2 degrees F a day raise your temp to 81-82 and add aquarium salt. If you can't use salt then raise temp anyway cause it speeds the life cycle of the ich and may kill it off. Not likely though. Good luck.

Your first problem with the cory was you proably didn't use an acclimation process? Correct me if I am wrong. I would stop with the water changes and take out that airstone. Treat the Ich and let your tank become stable and then try the airstone again.

It's not actually the fish that cause the disease, it's actually the water. So you must first treat the whole tank, not just put the infected fish in the hosptal tank. Being that if you do, the healthy fish will still become infected eventually(because of the free swimming parasites) . So go to your local fish store and they have medication especially for ich. Treat the tank and remember to take out the carbon out of your filter. I used Nox Ich and I highly recomend it.

 I have experienced the same as well along time ago, I feel for you! Good Luck!

I actually did acclimate him as I have all the others. It took about 35-45 minutes... floating the bag, adding tank water to it slowly, etc. He was great with first 18 or so hours. Then, wham. On his side at the surface. He is still doing that now. If something touches him, he'll swim around a bit, but as soon as he quits swimming it's back to the surface on his side. Not sure what, if anything, can be done about that.
The airstone I took out yesterday evening probably 2-3 hours before I even saw that something was wrong. So you think I should add the popeye-infected neon back to the tank and medicate the whole thing? I have Cure-Ick (or Ick-Cure?) that I can use. You add 1 capful (per 10-gal) once a day for 3 days, then do a 25% change and can treat again if needed. Should I try to raise the temp any? It's at about 75 now. Thanks!
