I have 5 red coral platys, all seem fine swimming wise, few things i want to ask tho.

1 has like small cotton balls at the top and bottom of its front fins(behind gills)
these are dif fish

1 has stringy poo

2 have cloudy eyes, 1 with i think a touch of fin rot

the other is fine

I know i have to treat them just not sure what with. I dosed with an anti-bacterial int parasite med and then with myaxzin for the fin rot. I dont know what is causeing the cloudy eyes. All fish are aswimming/eating normally.

Water stats tank

ammonia 0 90ltr moving to 300ltr after xmas
nitrite 0 ehiem 2215 filter along with internal (supplied)
nitrate 20
ph 7.4 7.6

water changed weekly 30% with gravel vac, Dechlor added to new warmed water.

If anyone can help please feel free

Cheers Dru

Cloudy eye is a symtom of a desease not a desease in its own right.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
The balls do they look like a cluster of berrys or caulifower.

They are really too small single balls on each fin. 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom of the fins. I just noticed on the 1 with stringy poop has on its gill white stuff the length of the gill.

I would use myxazin and pimfix.
Any fish flicking and rubbing or rubbing there gills on things in the tank.

Not that i can see they all seem to be just swimming into the current in the middle of the tank. All othe inhabitants are fine too.

Ok.
Keep a look out for flicking and rubbing.
I would use myxazin and pimafix.
Balls can be columnaris, fungus, whitespot.
Fungus can grow on dead tissdue.

No prob wilder.

If after the myxazin dosing it is still there would a white spot treatment be the next thing to try.

If they had whitespot you would see flicking and rubbing.
Check all fish for tiny grain salt spots.
I would go in with myxazin and pimafix for now.

Keep us all updated on there progress.
Good Luck.
