Not Sure What To Do!

soo, i have 1 cycled tank with fish, and one empty tank with filter heater etc ready to go.

my question is: what is the best way to cycle my new tank?

option1, put the new filter in my current tank and let it cycle in there

2, put the filter in the new tank, and start a fishless cycle

3, put the filter in the new tank and add some filter media from my cycled filter?

or is there something else i can do?

The best way to go is add the old media to the new tank or put the new filter into your old tank. I personally would just put some old media in for time sake.

add some of the mature media to the new filter and add a small amount of stocking for what you want then slowy add to the tank

A combination of running of running the new filter in old tank and then putting it into new tank with some old media also will do the trick.

I have only ever cycled one tank and have st-up several tanks from that, not just for me but several for family also.
