some real driftwood/wood or whatever for my 30 gallon tank I'm getting later this week.... I'm pretty sure the Petsmart/Petco around here won't sell it.... but maybe a LFS? Or Petland?

Depends where you're from. I'm guessing America with petsmart/petco. You're lfs should have some.

Petsmart and Petco really dont have much of a selection of natural driftwood. The pieces that they have are very small and very overpriced. Id say your best bet would look around at a large LFS or LPS.

What state and city do you live in? Petsmart doesn't have any real driftwood or bog wood at all (here in Kansas anyway). Some Petco's do have driftwood attached to slate, but the choices are not great. I have the best luck with small pet stores, usually owned by individuals. Look up petstores in the yellow pages, then call them.

I travel for my job and visit stores all across the midwest, so if I have been to your city and state I may be able to give you a recommendation. Chicago and Minneapolis have great stores!

I have buttloads of driftwood. Luckily, I have the Missouri River in my backyard. There's a place called Desoto Bend. It's an Oxbow lake made by the river. There are huge dams made of driftwood of all shapes and sizes.

I'm going out this Sunday. I'll grab a bunch, take some pics, and make a thread. If anyone sees a piece they like, let me know.

I live in the Metro Atlanta area. Northwest part, just outside the perimeter. I'll see about the LFS and petco... whenever they decide to open it... gah.
