A good thing with winter weather moving in, outside chores are starting to diminish… I might try to sneak in a few more fish into the barb tank, and maybe a few more plants… but getting the new air pump on line… things are pretty good in the Magnum house… time to maybe start up one of the 2 - 30 gallon longs, or finish the area of the house, that the 250 gallon is going into… I’m one of those guys that never rests, and most all the tanks are looking pretty good to me right now… so I’m sitting here watching, and waiting for the next catastrophe😉

It's a good feeling, when you stand back and feel good about the set up. Then, if you're like me (as I suspect), you dive headlong into another tank project. Then when it feels good, you...

If catastrophes come your way, they are awful. But they are also unwanted, unsought opportunities. My 41 year old turtle died this month, and I miss her strange reptilian company. I wish she were here to give me that beady eyed stare every morning. But her tank has already been cleaned and repurposed, and that has caused a chain reaction of species getting shuffled into different set ups.

Having a tank is one thing. Having a fishroom full of tanks is another. I love those moments of satisfaction with the set up and how it's running, but then I remember I'm never satisfied to stand pat. There's always another idea to be explored.

Not sure if you were asking me, or Gary… I have 12 set up right now, and 2-30’s, and a new 55 gallon, and a 250 gallon waiting in queue

I know Gary has a lot of aquariums . I’m asking you Man because it sounds like an Olympic size pool broken down into parts at your house . Finish the 250 gallon area first . I want to see pictures of that monster and the fish you’re going to put in it .

Magnum, How many hours a week do you devote to maintenance? I have 5 active tanks and one hospital tank going. I spend several hours. I’m going to add a breeding tank soon.

I like things as maintenance free as possible... probably a half hour per day,... so that's 3.5 hours, plus between an hour and a hour and a half per week for actual maintenance, not involved with daily feeding and such... so somewhere between 4 and 5 hours a week, right now..
