Coming home from the pub and having to set up an emergency quarantine tank for two dwarf frogs is not my idea of a fun Friday night :(

Two new dwarf frogs floating around alive but upside down!

Really sorry to hear that. I stopped keeping them and moved to real fish because they always seemed to either be sick or become sick within a few days of getting them. I've only lost one fish since I started the hobby. But I lost every single one of my frogs. Good luck.

We have three frogs that we got about 3 weeks ago and today we added two more.

New additions were acclimatised for about an hour for temp and water and were doing fine. Came home from the pub to find the wife staring at the tank with both new frogs floating in the current, alive but on their backs.

Have moved both new frogs to a QT but the wife is worried it could be chytrid fungus and the whole tank is doomed.

O dear, hope the little fellas get better soon

Well unfortunately neither frogs survived the night :(

Still not 100% on why they died as water is all perfect, they were acclimatised properly and seemed happy for a good few hours and even ate some cyclops. No signs of injury or illness apart from one that was just about to shed lost a patch of its back which is unusual.

They came from an Eheim display tank with live plants and some newts, not sure they should be kept with newts so a possible link?

Anyway, s**t happens :/

Thats sad, looking into the newts might be a good idea, i decided not to get a water dog due to supposed parasites they carry that can be harmful to fish.

Sorry for your losses. :rip:
