I came across some pictures tonight of old builds I did around 10 years ago when my wife and I were big into reptiles. This is only a fraction of the builds I did, but I think everything came out alright for only having hand tools and no experience at the time.

4ft enclosures, flex watt wired in.

One of several ball python racks with flex watt along the back halves of the tubs and hooked up to a Herp-Stat.

One of several rat racks. This one was built for a friend.

Plastic display case turned into an enclosure for an Avicularia versicolor. I hated this spider. This species is usually mellow, but this one was psychotic. I hated feeding/maintenance and almost tagged everytime I opened it.

DIY incubator for reptile eggs. Basically just a cheap cooler with some flex watt, a small fan for circulation and controlled by a Spider Robotics Herp-Stat.

And a recent build for my mother. Table with leather straps to hang wine bottles underneath.

Australians wear thongs on our feet (the yanks call them flip flops), but they work well in taming aggressive spiders. A quick whack on the head with a thong (not the kind strippers wear), and the spider is subdued and co-operative, or dead. :)

A flip flop may have been a good attitude adjuster for that A. versicolor, but we had a couple adult female G. pulcripes that would have laughed at my size 12 steel toed work boots. They were good girls, though.
