Fish Herder
My old girl needs some help. I had an ich and fungal outbreak as a result of some poor housesitting while i was on holiday. Still trying to repair the damage several weeks on....
Anyway, here you are:
1. Water parameters. (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, PH, temp', Hardness etc) Amm 0, Nitrate 15ish, Nitrite 0, ph 8, temp 26cm, hard water (dont know how hard)
2. A full description of the fishes symptoms. What initially looked like fungal patches on sides, looks more like a layer of the red scales has come off, and now a few more near the dorsal seem to be peeling away, as in pic.
3. How often you do water changes and how much. Normally, Weekly, 50%. At the moment 35-50% every other day.
4. Any chemicals and treatments you add to the water. Flourish excel & TPN+
5. What tank mates are in the tank. 8 more platys, 9 corydoras, 2 juve angels, 20ish endlers, 10 neon tetras, 1 cae.
6. Tank size. 180l
7. Finally Have you recently added any new fish? yes - 6 platys and endlers in the last month
I tried treating with pimafix (thats the fungal one right?), did it for 2 weeks, and initally saw a change in all those affected (mainly platys), but then it didnt get any better any more and started getting worse, so stopped pimafix and did 85-90% water change a few days ago. Did a 50% change this evening.
So...what is it? What can i do to help the platy? What about this fungus which just wont go away in the tank?
Many thanks in advance for advice
