I have 2 goldfish that are firing eggs out and breeding like crazy - see coldwater section

How do I know if eggs are fertile or not?

if the eggs turn white they are infertile i believe

Its the same with all fish, white eggs are infertile, but with coldfish being egg scatterers (not like cichlids that care for their eggs) you will most likely find they will eat them as soon as they are laid if they are in a tank. My dad had a pond for years and very rarely did eggs survive unless they fell deep into the plants where the Koi didnt reach.

Well I did get one step ahead there because after a while I decided to start catching some eggs. I've managed about 20 before they've eaten them all

I read on google searches that if the eggs are see-through then they are fertile and if they are white they aren't?

oohh you going to try and hatch them? I have no idea about hatching goldfish eggs, I dont think they need to be tumbled of artificially fanned like cichlid eggs do.

Dunno what I'm going to do really

I have spotted quite a few in the tank still stuck onto a big plastic plant ball thing that I threw in with the idea of it protecting some. I don't hold much hope but it would be nice if something did occur.
