Hi everyone,

Yes, I'm a newbie here. I came in search of a community like this because I'm a starting aquarium owner of a year.

Presently, I have a number of mollies living in a tank with a pink kissing fish.
Now I've had several birthings over the years by the various mollies. And they vary in color. I strted out with black and dalmaitian's. I now have a couple grey and just within the last month... a pink molly. So yeah, I'm sitting here wondering how or IF that could happen...which it obviously has, as I have the living proof.

Are there such a color as pink mollies?

Apparently so. :D Mollies and most other live bearers have a huge mess of genes carrying all sorts of color mutations and combinations. What it all comes down to is what set of dominant genes comes up is what color the fish will be. I've never seen a pink one but then 10 years ago I'd never seen a pink Betta and those are common now.

I don't know much about mollies - never realy kept any. But I know there is an albino variety and I suppose this is what it is. (BTW, albinism is usualy caused by a recessive allele so your mollies may have been carrying it).
