I grew up around Tropical fish tank's, as my Dad always had one. My dad is helping me set everything up, But he is a little forgetful when it comes to the fish. From what he does remember, here is a list of what I'm thinking of including.

1 male Fighter
1 male and 4 female Swordtails
1 male and 1 female Angelfish
2 female Kissing G's
12 Guppy's
12 Zebra's
4 Cory Catfish

Thats a total of 38 fish.

Any potential problems I might face with this selection?

Thanks

Couple of problems that stand out are ..... the male fighter wont be able to be house with the female fighters, angels fish will consider the neons as a food source once there big enough, what catfish you planning?

Ok, I'm happy to lose the female fighters. What should I replace them with?

I was aware that the Angelfish would be like that with the Neons, But I do really want Angelfish and Neons. Is there anything I can do to protect the Neons?

I'm really not sure what type of Catfish I want. What do you recommend? Is it ok to have a few differant types?

You could get away with black neons, they tend to grow alot bigger and may well be better suited, with the male fighter though there just isnt a solution sorry ;)

Catfish i would say cory's everytime, you could get a BN plec but the cory's are far more active and a much nicer chouice for a comunity tank :)

I was looking at the Black Neons. There pretty nice. I do preffer the Blue ones, But if it has to be the black ones, then I dont really mind much.

Ok, I've made a note of Cory's

That's fine about the female Fighters. It was the male I really wanted.

Just be careful with the male fighter, neons can be fin nippers and the fighters fins will look very tempting to them, not sure on compatability with the male fighter and tour other fish though :)

I thought Barbs were the fin nippers. I might just forget about the neons and just get a big shoel of Zebras. Whatcha think?

Nah m8, theres alot of fish which can be a bit nippy with long finned fish, neons can be really bad with it, some have no problems at all but there are also alot that do aswell.

bigger shoal of zebra's is upto you, not really a big fan of anythink apart from plecs and cory's so im a bit biased there lol

You could use the loss of the neons to get a bigger shoal of cory though, look much nicer in larger groups and they will feel more at home aswell :)
