I've had a planted tank for about a year now, and I had never had any problems with my plants. Here's a semi-recent picture of it. This pic is maybe 3 or 4 months old:

Soooo, recently I've been having problems with my leaves on my big leaved-plant. I don't know what it's called, sorry. D: The leaves have becoming brown and dying more often then they used to. I used to have to remove the dying leaves every few weeks, but I keep spotting new ones.

Here's my question: What can I do to keep my plants healthy? I don't inject my tank with any fertilizers, there isn't any CO2 things, nothing. I just stuck them in there and they grew. My lamp is a 6500K. What would you suggest I buy to keep my plants healthy? My tank is a 29 gallon, and I don't have a huge budget to buy really fancy smancy equipment. Are there any chemicals, fertilizers, etc. you reccomend that won't break my budget?

I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me what my plants are, too. Thaaanks!! :hyper:

Your plant looks like an Amazon Sword to me. These like a nutrient rich substrate, so you might want to think about fertiliser tablets for its roots.

first they are getting old as is.

and dave is right, as with any root feeding plant you will want something in the substrate that will help it grow and stay healthy. something like root tabs would work well in your case because you can just pop them in the gravel near the base of the plant.

Sounds like you want to keep the tank fairly cheapish? If so as suggested a few few root tabs under the plants and a decent liquid fert once a week would probably help. Seachem flourish is an excellent fert and most shops stock it.

Thanks, everyone! The reason I'm so cheap is I just quit my minimum wage job and am between jobs for right now. :( I'm still in high school...

I'm going literally right now to buy fertilizers. Thaaankss!!
