Noo! What Did I Do?!?!

Noo! i just killed my 6 harlequin rasbora
i've had them for months. they've been through so much and survived everything..
they had grown so much, were so beautiful..and this one was different from all the others, he had black fins instead of the usual orangish color..

but what did i do?
i just changed the water..came back in a little and they were all dead!
..i don't believe it would have been ph, or temp, shock. the tank has a cherry barb, and a female betta in it also. the cherry barb is struggling, but the betta is completely fine.

I think i must have forgot to put the dechlorinator in the tank. would this have killed them? it was about a 50% wc.
the betta must be fine because of being a labyrinth breather.

Sorry to hear you losing the harleys

I'm still quite a newbie,possible chlorine poisioning??,
did you check ammonia/nitrite? not dechlorinating could've killed good bacs,but don't know if it would've happened that quick?

it's ok.
the chlorine would have killed the good bacs. but the ammonia wouldn't build up this quick.

i saved the cherry barb though! when i saw the betta was ok, but the barb wasn't doing well, the only thing i could come up with is that i forgot to dechlorinate. so i added dechlorinator, and i scooped up the cherry barb and put him in my 30 gal, but left him in the net so he could rest on it..he was breathing heavy for awhile. and not moving much, but he's moved now, and he's moving his fins around. i think he'll make it!

i also changed the water in the 30 gal. and all the fish were fine

what the heck..
the cherry barb was swimming around in my 30 gal. seemed stressed out by the other fish. so i put him back in the 10 gal. i thought since i added the dechlorinator quite some time before. it would be safe.

now he died?
what the heck happened.
