Non-salted mollies?

Ive never kept mollies b4, does anyoe have success without adding ANY salt?

Yes, keeping and breeding.

Don't see why it would be a problem with mollies, unless you have salt sensitive fish in the same tank.

I've kept mollies off and on for years, and never salted them. At the moment, I've 2 black ones, one of which is probably 2 years old now. Her companion died, so I got another couple, one of which died, due to my ignorance of the amm/nitrite/nitrate cycle.

By contrast, my lfs guy has young mollies in some of the salt water tanks, as feeders, and they look great in there, too.

i guess it depends on a number of factors, what water the fish was bred in, what generation it is etc etc....

have heard many arguments for and against, and I am sure both are correct for individual fish.
