I will be setting up a Mbuna tank over the next few months.

Tank is 350L.

I was hoping to put 'something' else in there as well. But don't want to put fish in a stressful situation - either caused by the Mbuna or my the tank conditions (ie the PH etc).

So...

Are there any other fish found in Lake Malawi that can exist happily in this sized Mbuna tank?

Are there any other fish...in the world...that can happily exist in a Mbuna tank?

About the only two I have found are a Synodontis Catfish (which is going to be a purchase for sure!) and a non malawi Bristlenose Plec.

Thanks

As far as I know, that's really the only options that you have....The tank will be very interesting with the Mbunas and the Catfish. That's what I have, and the tank is very active and pleasant to watch.

Yeah for sure. I am completely happy with that setup.

More of a 'wandering' mind than a 'wanting' of different species.

Make sure you get the smaller variety that like hard water, as some get large and prefer softer water. THe 3 I know of are Syndontis Petricola, Mutli and Luci.
