Hi
I have just got a second hand jewel 60 with all its equipment and set it up straight away. It's all working but the internal filter is really noisy. Perhaps they always are, my other tank has an external canister so i don't have another internal to compare it with.
Does anyone have any tips about how to muffle the sound or do i need to get something different for it?

You guys solved my floating cucumber with the spoon trick and my gibby is happily munching away, perhaps this is a bigger problem though!

I had a Jewel Rekord 120 and the filter was dead quiet, couldn't hear it in fact so I dont't think it should be so noisy on yours? ????

pull it apart and give it a good wash.

there probably some gunk in the impellor or something.

sometimes jus forcing it up and down in the water (whilst its on) will force any gunk out.

thanks, have cleaned it out. There wasn't much but it does seem quieter now. Husband due home from a trip any minute and will discover that I have introduced another tank so thanks for the quick response.

if its still too noisey consider buying a new powerhead for it (perhaps a more powerful one :hey: )
