no nitrite

Ive been cycling my 10gal (us) tank for about 2 weeks.
Ive tested for nitrite yesterday, and the reading was 0.
The ammonia still hasnt dropped.

Is this normal??
Can i do anything to speed this up??

have you added filter media/gravel/decor/from an established tnak? if not...could you?

are you cycling with or without fish, it takes a bit longer with fish. it also takes longer if you don't use anything from an established tank to start it off. i wouldn't be too worried just yet though.

I havent added anything from an established tank. I dont know anyone who has fish, iand i dont have any other tanks.

Im cycling wtihout fish.

just gotta be patient then I'm afraid as you haven't specifically added a bacteria source it'll take logner for the abcteria to "find their way" into your tank. should happen sometime soon though
