I'm disappointed, I have 5-6 pretty big projects I'm trying to complete before I'm a ward of the state ( retired ), so, I'm literally living pay check to pay check trying to complete these projects... one of the sellers I buy from, has had several fish I wanted to buy, I was waiting for them to become available, so of coarse, they are sold out again... I'm thinking that is going to be the hard part of retiring, is finding funds for things like new fish, on a fixed income☹️

To get around that problem my wife and I took part time jobs after we retired.

breed the fish you have and use the money from that to buy new fish.

grow aquatic plants and sell them to support your habit (I mean hobby).

breed various other animals (sheep) and grow terrestrial plants and sell them for extra income.

I get that one. After retirement, I had a part time job, and as it dried up, I took another contract deal for a while. Right now though, I have no money projects going. I won't have fish after I'm dead, so I reckon I'll spend some of what I put aside now.
I put money aside for my pending decrepitude, and here I am!

You live in a rural area, so I imagine that cuts out a lot of opportunities for selling fish. There's always bank robbery...

I've gone back to working the streets.

If you recall the movie, Deuce worked with fish.....just sayin.

i officially retired from the university at 69. I have a part time contract with my old department performing data analysis on a few government grants. That contract ends when I’m 75, in 2.5 years. Then I am going to become an Uber driver or work 10 hours a week in my local fish store.

I was offered an aquarium store job, but the round trip commute would be 7 and half hours. I think not. If I were in a large city though, I would go that route. It'd be full circle - the kid with a net at 16, the still think I'm a kid old man with a net now.
