I have 4 LFS' and i know of 2 more, but theyre rather out of reach, itd take 3-4 hours to get them home, rather than 1hour or less (dont have a car you see)

None of them stock endlers, and one of them just looked at me like "whats that? a reptile?" kind of thing :shout:

Theyre absolutely lovely fish and im making a peaceful community tank so im sure they'll be fine with the other small livebearers and slow moving fish, but does anyone know of a place in Kent that does them?

Im willing to get a taxi there and back if it means i can get my hands on these fish lol.

maybe post in the wanted section id think some one on here will have some to sell you and would be willing to post or try ebay :good:

no you're relativley unlikley to find them in an lfs, but you should be able to pick some up fairly easily elsewhere, check out aquarist classified and the buy, sell swap section, also look at on-line retailers such as trimar :good:

cool cool I'll put up a wanted thread once my tank is cycled and il use my sisters ebay account to buy them.

One problem is would i have to pick them up? Or can fish be delivered? (which sounds dangerous, that must stress them out something major)

hi twistedlink
some fish are hard to come by from your lfs
and to get the fish you want as a last option is to mail order them iv had loads of fish this way and they settle in fine after there long transportation.
if you can get some one on here who has what you want and is local so you can collect that is a better option. but if you have to mail order they will pack the fish with a heat pack if needed and secure them proply to minimise the stress :good:

It is possibly the price of endlers that is stopping your LFS's from stocking them.
I know that, (at least in my area) the retail price of a guppy is around the same as the trade price that suppliers charge for endlers.

Ebay is the best place to get Endlers and Rare guppies IMHO I have been using Ebay to buy endlers for ages now and never had any probs with the sellers.
Stella999, GBCFC, Tiger Robbie, are all excellent and fish are very healthy. Also the prices on ebay are far cheaper than LFS and the Variety available is alot better.

Some people on here have Endlers avalable. I know pitdownpaul and stiffler69 and rooster have some

Tiger Robbie is on the forums too. shaz3271 = Tiger Robbie on ebay. She was selling Cherry shrimps the other week and lots of people were very pleased :)

I ordered some half tux endlers from Stella9998 a while back off eBay and ended up getting poor quality hybrid blackbar endlers......

I have many endler varieties but don't have any heatpacks to accompany the fish so wouldn't be able to send any for a while. An eBay user called 'dodgyellis' currently has some endlers purchased direct from Adrian Hernandez, who is responsible for many of the current endler strains and is one of the top livebearer breeders. Might be worth a try....

Much less than being delivered to an lfs. If you think about it, the fish you buy in the shops will have been delivered from a breeder in somewhere like Singapore to a warehouse, from warehouse to airport, by air to the UK, from airport to importer's warehouse, from warehouse to lfs, from lfs to your home. About 6 journeys at all.

A fish you buy from a UK breeder will only have to do one journey- from the breeder's house to you. Usually by courier and they are often very good.

Also the British Livebearer Association has a trade page.

I have bought endlers from quite a distance away. They were shipped to me on a Monday and didn't arrive until that Friday. When I opened the package all were doing fine and there were even some fry in the package. I don't know what shipping is like in the UK but I do know that the 4 days didn't seem to hurt them any. That was in October, now I have 2 tanks, a 45 gallon and a 20H, almost full to overflowing from those 5 pairs of endlers. These guys are tough and can be shipped well. I have no idea how a hybrid would ship. Mine are from colony bred wild stock.

Yes its true-some lfs havent heard of endlers-they looked gone out at me. Its hard to get shops interested-now guppies thats a different matter-i reckon if more people saw endlers ,guppy sales would drop.
