Nitrites?

I'm just at week 2 on cycling my tank and this morning my ammonia had finally got itself down to 0.25 but my NitrItes look to be less aswell. Is that ok because I never noticed it go above the darkest colour on the chart, it was dark yesterday but not darker than the 5ppm on the chart I wouldn't say. As of yet not tested nitrAtes for a couple days, but they were cree[ing up nicely last time I checked. {somewhere between 10 and 20ppm}

Sounds like a normal cycle to me. Nitrites don't have to be off the chart for a tank to cycle, often if they are too high they will inhibit the bacteria that convert nitrites to nitrates. The same applies to ammonia.

Keep adding ammonia everytime it drops to near zero. The nitrites won't go off the chart from the first dose of ammonia. It is the continuous daily (or everytime it drops down) dosing after it drops the first time.

ok thanks, I've put ammonia back up to 2ppm now
