So, I started cycling 19 days ago. There has been a presence of nitrite for 10 days, and it's been off the charts for 8. I'm just wondering how much longer it's going to take before it drops. I'm hoping to get fish next saturday at an expo, so I'm hoping it's gonna drop soon. The ammonia is being processed in like 8 hours.

could take a few weeks m8.... dont think it would be done by Saturday but you never no... good luck...

I presume you are doing water changes, plus try adding Seachem Prime when you do, that will reduce Nitrite.

The nitrite eaters always seem to take longer then the ammonia eaters. Personally I find that bit to be the biggest advantage of media donations.

Yeah I'm doing weekly water changes. I'd rather not add anything. I'm just gonna let it do its thing.

Thanks. The expos go on every 3 weeks, I was just hoping I'd have my fishies by saturday. :)

Yeah, I just don't have any friends who keep fish, so it was kind of out of the question.
