help guys i have a friend whos nitrate has went from 0 to 25 and she wants to know how to bring it back down again i would personaly recomend large frequent water changes but whats everyone else think.

nitrate at that level shouldn't cause much harm
a water change might help depending on the nitrate level of the tap water

i'm newish to this so i might be wrong

The question that needs to be asked is 'how quickly did it rise that high?'
 
As stated, 25 ppm for freshwater fish are not an issue. 
 
Nitrate reducers:

• Water change
• natural plants
