Nitrate From Tap Water

hi guys.. great site this
 
having had fish or many years. we moved house in june and have lost a lot of fish.. turns out the tap water is very high on nitrate.. so bad my young son is under the doctor for having high nitrate levels in his urine.. is there a product out there to remove. as water changes arent really goin help me.. even though after treating with tap safe.. the nitrate level in tank is lESS than out of tap! can admin please remove this repeated thread from cycle tank post

Where does your tap water come from?  Those levels exceed UK health & safety limits.

Best options for you are:
Get real pissy with your water supplier, its beyond health and safety limits
Use Seachems Prime - removes ammonia, nitrate and nitrite.
Add some Seachem Purigen to your filter - removes organic waste compounds from the water, can be recharged with bleach making it a 1x purchase.
Use RO water - either make your own (costly to set up) or buy whenever you need from a local fish store (think mine sell it at £4 for 25L)
HEAVILY plant your tank as they will consume some of your waste for you
