Nicaraguan Cichlid Growth Speed - How Quick Did Yours Grow?

Hi just as the title says really. My male HRP is being a big pain in the #16##### and is chasing my female Nic quite a bit. She can stick up for her self and he comes off worse in the confrontations, his tail has a tear or two in it now but nothing major.

Its only been happening the past few days and I am fairly certain that once she outgrows him he will calm down because he is actually my smallest fish (bar his remaining fry) the nic is roughly the same size. But even say 18 months down the line when they could reach adult size he will be 4-5 inches (im guessing smaller as he spent most of the past year breeding) and she should get 5-6+

So far she has grown at least an inch in 4 weeks so I am just wondering if she will keep this momentum up? By comparison the HRP has grown about half an inch in 6 months.

I know quite a few people have had female nics so just looking for comparisons

Sounds about right growth wise, my meanist female growing larger than her sister (who she killed eventually), will probably keep going until she reaches maturity, do you know roughly how old she was when you got her?

My two went from 1" to about 4" in 5 months, but one did grow faster than the other.

Ah that sounds like good news to me, not sure how old she was when I got her as it was from a store and shes just a farm raised one, she is really docile and eats like no tomorrow shes started flaring back at HRP but still running a lot. He is just a big woosie really anything bigger than him and he is terrified of it.

Just been to LFS not my favorite but my number 2 and got some red rainbows, not sure if I am keeping them but they are a temp fix for now to try and calm him down. Also got an amazing Peckolitia Sabaji which Ill be posting pics of later on

I had a 5" Nic that i had for a year before she became to aggressive to keep...she never grew at all and i feed twice a day.
