NFL 2025

I’d rather have a bye week and just need two wins to get to the superbowl instead of 3 needed wins if you dont have the bye week.

There has to be a statistic on the outcome of teams receiving first round byes.

From football stats
Teams with a first-round bye in the NFL playoffs have historically had a strong showing in reaching the Super Bowl, with about
two-thirds (around 67%) of teams with a bye making it to the championship game from 1999-2019, though recent years show variation, with the No. 1 seed winning roughly half the time (50%) and No. 2 seeds sometimes missing out.

Why the Bye Week Matters
  • Rest & Health: Players get crucial rest, reducing injury risk and fatigue.
  • Home Field: The bye guarantees a higher seed, meaning more home playoff games.
  • Momentum vs. Rest: Some argue the bye can break momentum, but history shows the rest often outweighs this, as seen in strong Divisional Round performance.
In essence, getting a bye week significantly boosts a team's chances for a Super Bowl run, even if upsets are a memorable part of playoff lore.

For the 4:25 PM (ET) games, I'll need to have 2 tvs next to each other for the Pats/Miami game and at the same time to watch the Broncos/Chargers game. Pats need a win against the lowly Dolphins and will want the Broncos to lose against the Chargers in order for the Pats to get the all important bye week for the playoffs.
GO PATS!

I'm not interested in the early games, Dallas vs Giants and Colts vs Texans. But the late games are Chargres vs Broncos and Detroit vs my Bears.

I would think the fact that a team with a bye has proven to be the best in the conference is more of a factor than the bye... ;)

Myles Garrett is the king of sacks! Sanders leads a sweet two minute drive to win the game.

The game meant nothing but good for Garrett and Sanders proved he can handle pressure. :)

Well the Pats lost their bye.....😛

Still, I'm confident the Donkeys will choke as usual in the playoffs. Probably against the Chargers! 🤣

Are we getting excited with anticipation for the upcoming wildcard games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday? Football doesn’t get any better than the playoffs culminating in the Superbowl.
I'm rooting for the Patriots. Their game with the Chargers on Sunday at 8 PM (ET) will be a very competitive game. The Pats are favored by a narrow margin...just 3.5 points.

I'd also like to see the 49ers advance though their last game against the Seahawks was a catastrophe for Purdy and the offense (lost 13-3).

I'm not really for or against any teams. I just hope for good games.

I guess, if I had to pick a team, it would be the 49ers just due to the fact that Dexter Carter, wide receiver/kick return in the 80s, was a client of mine when I lived in Florida.

I really like the Jaguars for the Bills/Jags playoff game. They have 8 wins in a row and most were lopsided wins. Lawrence is a top notch quarterback and fun to watch.
