what kind of land would best be recommended............i have a 10 gallon tank and going to get fire bellied newts.

Depends on if they're juvi or adults. Adults don't need any land - just some rocks, plants or wood protruding out the water for them to rest on. Juvis should have a little bit but most people just accomplish this with a stack of wood or something similar.
