Was labeled "Violet" at the LFS. Wanted the colour for the tank to have some differences in it.

Also, anyone have any ideas on how i could put an extra light attached to the hood the easiest way (want to keep the one i currently have also).
Was thinking maybe some light holding clips or something ot hold it to the hood..?

Regards,
Indir

Yeh the one in the left side is defo a non aquatic and the red ones looks a bit iffy too.

What woudl happen if i left the non aquatic one in?

And ###### such a shame i guess :( Guess ill chuck em and find some other ones to fill in their space :(

Regards,
Indir

Ok replaced the non aquatic plant. Also bought a new lighting unit for more WPG (1wpg at the moment)

This is an update of thetank look. Have bought lace fern and 'bannana lily' (waiting confirmation for lily).

Also, the new lighting unit has 2 x 18w fluroscent 'cool white' bulbs. Am i able to replace these with higher wattage ones (i have a 20 alone atm which i was gonna replace one with) or will this blow up the unit?

Regards,
Indir

you can only use tubes for what the ballast is capable of powering, if you have a 20w ballast, then sticking a 30w tube wont make any difference as the ballast can only supply 20watts of energy.

If they are T8 tubes then you could use T6 which are 40% more powerful but still fit in the same ballast as a T8.

Hmm. Well ive got it set up now anyway. So Just under 2WPG. So shouldnt need CO2 hopefully lol.

Hey the light is 4000k spectrum. Its a yellowy green light, says it is "cool white". Is this normal? And does it affect fish?

I like the way it looks though, makes the plants brighter and nicer looking.

Indir

usually cool white is about 8000k lol but it wont hurt anything.
