Hi Peeps,

have recently upgraded our fish tank, to a fishpod 120L. Have done the cycle, and transferred our fish over from the old tank.

Currently in there are, 6 Neon's, 5 Zebra Danio's, 3 Tiger Barbs and a Plec.

Are looking for 1 or 2 "showcase" fish, preferably bigger. Saw some Paradise Fish in our LFS the other day, would these be compatible with the above and be a good idea? If not, any other suggestions?

Also, any other suggestions would be welcome. SWMBO would like some Rummy Nose Tetra's too.

Thanks

I would up the numbers of all of them before adding anything else, especially the tiger barbs as they are fin-nippers and will nip the fins of anything bigger you put in, especially gourami's as they tend to be quite shy. In a group of 10 this shouldn't be too bad though :p

I would ditch the tiger barbs tbh, they can be little sods.

The problem you will have if you add rummy noses is that you will have 3 small shoals of fish which doesn't look as effective as one big shoal of the same fish if that makes sense? You could look at adding a pair of Honey Gourami's. They won't outgrow your tank and should fit well with the Tetras and Danios. What Plec is it?

I would go with

8+ Neons
6 Zebra Danios
1 male Honey Gourami
1 female Honey Gourami
1 Plec (depending on what it is)

Hi Thanks for the replies.

Plec is a common we think http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/339380-plec-identification/page__p__2820004#entry2820004

Not ideal, but we're very attached to him lol.

Would paradise fish be suitable for our current stock? Gonna add a few more barbs we think.

Hey there,

I would up the neons too 10+ & Up the TB's too 6+ This way it spreads the aggression and they really thrive in the groups mentioned. They should always be kept this way.

And sorry too sound negative. But a "Common" Pleco will well outgrow a 120l tank. It will either need re-homing or you will need to get a 4foot tank.

Sorry too be the bearer of bad news. :(

But anyway. As i said up the numbers then go from there. Maybe some Dwarf Gourami's or Honey's...
