Anyone know if it's male or female? Well happy with the purchase , cost me £10 and seems to be helping my oscar come out a little more:)

He's lovely, hope it does encourage your Oscar out more long term too.

The JD doesn't leave the front of the tank alot , its a bit of a pyscho really! it's eating the bichir's Massivore Pellets which will most certainly help the fella grow. Gotta love the weeksii bichir in the ornament behind watching the world go by:)

Green terror?? Get majorly aggressive towards you when older. Headbutt the tank to get at ya! Cracking pets.

What's in the cave in the first picture, some sort of cat??

Jack Dempsey, kinda looks similar to a juvi GT but the green terrors have orange finnage and have a slightly differnt head shape.

The fish in the cave is a polpyterus Weeksii:

Here's My poly's as a few of you may not have seen the wild caught bullet head lap yet:

That is 1 million % a female JD :)

Brillaint :) The Girlfriend kept trying to name it Sophie but i wasn't naming it anything until i knew it's sex:)

Wow, I love Bichirs. How big's your tank?? How old/big are they??

They're in a 4x2x2 hoping to get a 6x2x2 at some point to get the larger polypterus's

The JD is about 3-4 inch so presumably no where near a year
Oscar;'s getting big 6 inch at a guess no idea on the age , at the size its at now less than a year i would of though.

As for the bichir;s no idea on the age , none of them are near fully grown ,

the Weeksii is the biggest at over a foot easily, the lapradei is around the foot mark , the senegal is someone around 6-8inch the ornatipinnins is only a few inches and the Delhezi which isnt in the photo is about 2 inch.

looking good, Sexing Jack Dempsey's is somewhat easy by appearance. Males are large and have more pointed anal fins. They have little or no blue on the gill plates while females have a good deal of blue pattern. The body of a female will have less color than a male.

deffo a female jack dempsey, very different to a green terror ;)
