After finding out yesterday I had no female guppies in my tank, I felt the need to visit the pet shop !! 10 yr old son has now convinced me to buy the few remaining females they had and again i am left wondering I am pretty sure they are all pregnant, and have a spare tank up and running for any fry , any help to tell me how far gone they are would again be greatly appreciated ... link below... The woman in pet store had no idea how far gone or if indeed they are pregnant !!!!

Thanks in advance

Guppies are almost always pregnant even when you buy them. But as soon as they are with males be prepared for babies in a few weeks time! Good luck!

Since a female guppy is only that way for about 4 weeks, its time to get ready now. One that is about to deliver will have a sort of squarish look to her abdomen with an almost flat looking back end to the abdomen near the anal fin. The dark spot, called a gravid spot, near the anal fin will also become quite dark in color.
