Hi guys!
Brief intro- I'm a final year veterinary science student with a particular interest in wildlife and exotics... I did have up to 28 Betta splendens at one point in time, and I did breed my purple pair once (which did produce about 33% purple babies) but now currently only have two bettas- a purple female (offspring) and a red plakat male. I also have two largeish comet goldfish in an outdoor pond (The pond is mainly for my adult shortneck turtle, but the goldfish look nice) and I'm currently in the process of perhaps adding some Siamese algae eaters and Bristlenose to the pond.
This is actually what led me to this forum- I've done quite a bit of research into 'algae eaters' and then at a local fish store I found what they were calling 'Siamese flying foxes'. I came home, looked them up, and they look to me as though they are Siamese Algae Eaters, Crossocheilus siamensis
I was just wondering whether anyone could confirm this? I bought one today, and may buy the remaining two from the store tomorrow... Sorry, the pictures aren't great- but I think its C. siamensis because the black lateral line starts at the mouth and isn't "Smooth edged" and there doesn't seem to be a gold or bronze line above the black
