Hi all , my name is Paul I am from Bromsgrove in the Midland`s
I had been keeping fish for 30+ year`s ( 1976 )
I have kept fish of all type`s excluding marine`s
I have worked at 3 shops and was fairly well known , I have also visited hundred`s of shop`s either delivering , hunting oddie`s or following the show`s
My favourite specie`s are predatory catfish and big oddball`s , my most memorable were a 3.5 foot electric eel ,a 3 foot redtail and a 3 foot+ pike. ooh and for year`s I had a really fat 15" electric cat who was hand tame
In my peak I had a heated 10ft x26ft x8ft tropical fish shed housing 60+ tank`s from 6ftx2ftx2ft down to 18"x18"15" plus 2x 2mtr x1mtr x1mtr fibreglass tank`s , also out side it I had 3x 3,000 gallon pool`s and 1x 5,200 gallon pool , all heated and where possible planted .
Sadly due to a disabilty progressivly getting worse over the past 5 year`s I have had to gradually have everything dismantled and disposed of except the fibreglass tank`s and a few bit`s of hardware as I can now no longer walk in order to maintain everything
.
I also have a fondness for snake`s,reptile`s,insect`s,frog`s and turtles .
I obviously miss this lifelong hobby but hope to compensate by reading of the exploit`s of fellow hobbiest`s on this site and possibly bring back a few old memories .
My favourite aquatic`s were Henley and Holly Bush nurseries , but alot of little shop`s often supprised me with their unusual selection`s
Visiting other fish importer`s was also a benefit as I got to look before the public did
I like thoughtful and well displayed tank`s.
I dislike seeing pipe`s cable`s and tube`s etc.
